Workplace Impact Isn't a Personality Trait, It's a Skill You Apply
Impact isn't personality. It's application. Mix those two up, and you'll wait forever to feel ready for it.
The excuse that feels true but isn't
A lot of people assume they need to be naturally charismatic to stand out at work. They see someone confident and outspoken get noticed, and they conclude that's just how it works: some people have "it," and some people don't. That assumption becomes a convenient excuse not to try.
But impact isn't something you either have or you don't. It's not a personality trait you're born with. It's what happens when the right foundation and the right mindset actually get applied to real work, consistently, over time.
What actually builds impact
You don't need a personality transplant to build real impact. You need to actually do the work: learn what good looks like, build the mindset to handle pressure well, and then apply both of those things to the problems in front of you.
If you've been telling yourself you're not "the type" to be noticed at work, it's worth questioning that story. The gap usually isn't personality. It's whether you've actually built the skills and then used them. Be honest about which one is really holding you back.
One thing to do with this
Be honest with yourself this week: is your gap a skills gap, or an application gap? Name it, then do one thing about it.
